Samara Herrera, MSW

Samara believes her path toward helping others finding and unlocking their human potential or personal genius is rooted in her own winding journey in life. From service to her country as an Officer in the United States Navy, to a Masters of Education and work as public-school educator and, a Masters of Social Work focused on social justice policy and advocacy, Samara holds each life experience, professional and otherwise, as a “data point” on the pathway to a purpose-filled life. That purpose: helping individuals, specifically young adults (17-25), early professionals and mid-career changers understand their unique talents so they can thrive in life and work.

Deep self-worth is built at the intersection of the 'study of self' and the development of our distinctive talents. Our personal genius, much like a talent, is a pattern of beliefs, mindsets, and actions that when applied, unlocks the fullness of our power and potential. However, it is common for the beauty of our genius to become overlooked, undervalued, and undiscerned. Samara helps people pause and take a step back from themselves, their lives, and the overwhelm they feel from the many choices and paths before them to identify, treasure and cultivate their genius. She believes we ‘sort and filter’ life better when we’re doing so in the clarity of our genius.

While personal genius is Samara’s focus at Compasion Fix, she’s excited to support a variety of people as they navigate their unique strain of “humanness.” A wife and the mother to a very ‘spirited’ teenage daughter, on Saturday mornings (but not too early), you can find Samara curled up on the couch; a good book in one hand, coffee in the other and a trashy Lifetime movie on the TV.
