Mystic Mornings: A Morning with Saint John, Thursday, Jan. 16, 10-11:30 a.m.

$25.00

The Christian mystics offer us teachings in how to deepen our connection to God and live in unity with one another. Each month Ginger Rothhaas, MDiv. introduces us to a new mystic and their timeless wisdom.

John of the Cross lived in Spain in the 1500s and coined the term “dark night of the soul.” He was arrested for his attempts to reform the Catholic Church and was deeply betrayed by his clergy and peers in the church. This led him on a deep spiritual search for God outside of religion and he left us with a guide to surviving our own dark nights of the soul and seeing our suffering as an invitation to go deeper with God.

This class will be an introduction to John’s writings and a discussion on deepening our own faiths in times of adversity.
